Invisible Retainers
Instructions for Invisible Retainers
RETAINERS MUST BE BROUGHT WITH YOU TO ALL APPOINTMENTS .
- This is the most important part of your treatment. It takes at least 2 years for the teeth to become stable enough to stay in place on their own.
- The retainer should be worn as per wearing schedule below unless otherwise directed by the Doctor.
- The first 24 hours there may be excess saliva since the brain thinks there is food in the mouth, this will go away.
- Speech will be different, it will improve the more you talk - try reading out loud.
- When your retainer is out of your mouth, it must be kept in your case. If subjected to extreme temperature it may distort.
- Brush both sides carefully with a gel toothpaste and toothbrush regularly. Soak 1 - 2 times per week in Efferdent if needed.
- Keep away from household pets.
- If your retainer needs to be replaced because of loss, breakage or not fitting properly, due to not wearing as instructed, there will be a replacement fee charged of $80.00 each.
- No eating or drinking with retainers in except for water
- If your retainer becomes loose or does not fit well, call the office to schedule an appointment.
- Remember to bring retainers to every appointment so Doctor can check them.
